A recent study shows that 64% of U.S. adults are aware or have heard of CBD and one-third of the population have at least tried it once. With CBD being readily available since the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, it’s fair to say CBD isn’t going anywhere. Because it derives from the cannabis plant, there are still misconceptions around the cannabinoid so we’re here to set the record straight!
Here are a few common things you or someone you know probably don’t know about the popular compound.
1. You Can’t Get High From Using CBD
CBD is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant. While it’s cousin, THC, is associated with the “high” feeling, CBD is completely non-psychoactive and contains many health benefits such as increasing serotonin levels to help with depression and anxiety.
2. CBD Is Illegal
As mentioned prior, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, aka the 2018 Farm Bill was signed on December 20, 2018 and completely reconstructed the definition of the hemp plant. Accordingly, plant material that contains 0.3% or less THC is not considered a controlled substance and a DEA registration is not required to grow or research it.
*It is notable to mention that a few states still have discrepancies in their CBD rules.
3. CBD Show Up On Drug Tests
Drug tests in correspondence to cannabis are made to identify the compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and it’s metabolites. As CBD is defined as having less than 0.3% THC, it is considered undetectable and therefore extremely unlikely for a person to fail a drug test as long as you obtain your CBD product from a credible source.
4. Take CBD Only When You’re Ill
A prescription is not needed for consuming CBD and while medical studies back up it’s benefits for ailments such as cancer, heart disease, glaucoma, chronic pain, PTSD and epilepsy, it is also great for the everyday person and even pet!
5. CBD Needs To Be Smoked
While cannabidiol comes in many forms and can be smoked in flower form, it can also be utilized in a myriad of ways. NATURE'S WEALTH CBD PRODUCTS can be found in capsule, roll on, tincture oil, topical salve and even gummy form. Depending on your preference, there is a wide range of infused products that can fit everyone’s needs.
