Not All CBD Is Created Equal

As CBD takes the market by storm, people are becoming interested in not only its health benefits but of the plant itself and more specifically - its cannabinoid profile.

Did you know there are about 113 known cannabinoids in the hemp plant? CBD is undoubtable the most sought-after component and there are currently three ways in which you’ll see it come - Isolate, Broad Spectrum and Full Spectrum. Finding which form suits you best is completely dependent on your lifestyle and what you’re trying to gain from the product. Everyone has different goals and it’s important to find what’s right for you as one type is not better than another.

ISOLATE

Just like it sounds, isolate refers to the process of extraction where CBD is isolated from the rest of the cannabinoids in the plant. Once it stands on its own, it then goes through a winterization process to remove any leftover plant matters such as oils, waxes, terpenes etc. to offer a clean, consistent product that tests upwards of 99% pure CBD.

Those who get drug tested regularly are more prone to purchase CBD isolate products because there are zero traces of THC.

BROAD SPECTRUM

This particular method includes the most active cannabinoids with the exception of THC and is considered the middle ground option between isolate and full spectrum CBD. Unlike isolate, broad spectrum contains a full-range of beneficial cannabinoids, terpenes and essential oils that come from the plant. It then must go through a refinement process to remove the THC compound.

Because this method of extraction includes the rest of the cannabinoids in the plant, it produces a stronger influence to help maximize CBD oils’ effect in what’s known as the “entourage effect.”

FULL SPECTRUM

The 3rd and final type includes all active cannabinoids and terpenes in the Cannabis plant including THC known as full spectrum. Although there will be traces of THC in the product (less than 0.3%) it is not enough to get you “high.” One of the most common methods of the process is through supercritical CO2 extraction.

In regards to full spectrum products, it is important to do your homework to ensure the legitimacy of where you are purchasing your CBD. Any credible company that including here at Natures Wealth, should be more than happy to provide lab tests to guarantee the products you are purchasing are safe and effective.

Like we mentioned earlier, there is no “better” form of CBD – it varies from person to person and is completely dependent on what you’re looking for. Here at Natures Wealth, our mission is to provide you safe and quality products – you’ll find most of our products are CBD isolate but are currently expanding our line to incorporate the entire spectrum to have a variety for everyone.
